Product Review: Yes to Cucumbers conditioner

Another Target purchase.  While buying the L'oreal Ever Strong I had the thoughts of "OMG what if I hate it I need a back up"  Now instead of buying a conditioner that I know and love like HE Totally Twisted, I ventured into the unknown again.  I ran over to the "Yes to" section and grabbed this bottle.  Why? Because everyone speak so highly about it and of course I had got to see for myself.

I'm really happy that I did.  It's a lightweight creamy conditioner that really makes my hair feel soft and moisturized.  What I've been noticing is that my hair responds better to lighter conditioner because the strands of hair are so fine.  There are plenty of posts on YouTube or on blogs where girls swear by leaving a little bit of their co-wash conditioner in their hair, not rinsing it all out.  I can't do that.  My hair looks dull and white.  So I need something light because I need it all to be rinsed out. I also need to guarantee that my hair and scalp feels free and clear of the buildup of the stuff I use over the course of the week and this does just that.

I like that fact that there's not a heavy scent to it.  It reminds me of spring, as cheesy as that may sound.  It's refreshing without being overpowering.

Another plus to this is that it's been lasting a really long time and it's affordable.  It was about 7 or 8 bucks at Target.

This conditioner is most likely become a staple in my hair regimen.

If you have fine hair that is weighed down easily, this is a pretty good alternative to the heavier stuff out there

My Verdict : 4/5

Kinky Twist Removal

My kinky twists are out and they were a huge pain in the butt.  As nice as it was to wake up late for a few weeks the removal process drove me nuts.  All the hair that shed naturally is wrapped around the end of my hair and it's been hell to detangle.  I think I'm staying away from those for a while.  If I decide to go into a protective style, I think I'm gonna try the crochet braids again.  I think it's the perfect spring style, if only spring would finally arrive here in NY

Spring Awakenings

Spring is officially here in a few days and I'm excited.  Spring and Fall are my two favorite seasons because of the clothes I get to wear and the mild weather. This year I've been looking at a lot of corals and greens.  I love the pairing of either of those colors with navy.  LOVE!  Once I make my way to the stores for my spring shopping trip, it's gonna be a problem.

So...

Two things:

1. I forgot to charge my camera becfore heading to Charlotte so I have no hair pics aside from this pic I took of a "my braidout is failing me so now's a good time as any to try my first updo" on my Blackberry (which means the pic quality sucks)

and

2. My kinky twists are back because it's no-hassle and it's time to give my hair a protective style time-out

Procrastination's My Middle Name

Tomorrow has become two days later.

Here's how my hair turned out after wrapping it up.

My hair was on its absolute last day of the braid out and screaming to be washed but I had to go one more day.

That day was today!  I had to work a puff today, nothing else would do.  As soon as I got home from work, I hit the sink (yeah I wash in the sink, it's easier for me and my shower drain)

Currently my hair is braided up on blow-dried hair.  The dryer was on cool.  I just wanted to stretch my hair out a little more than usual because I'm headed to Charlotte on Friday and I wanna skip the "small" hair.  Wish me luck because last time I used a blow dryer and did a twistout my hair looked the same.  If I gain a little length from this, I'm satisfied.

I'll keep you updated on how it all turns out.

Anyway, back to what I was originally writing about...
