Pretty in Pink

I was in such a good mood yesterday thanks to the amazing weather we had, so I headed outside and took a few pics of myself.  Plus I really liked what I had on.

Spring 2010: Military Madness

Here's something that works well with the dresses I put up the other day. I would definitely say mix feminine pieces with something rugged like one of these jackets or boots.

Spring 2010 Trend: Floral Dresses

Back from last spring, florals are one of the must have patterns for this season. Throw a floral dress on with a denim jacket, a boyfriend blazer, or a cardigan; some flats or boots and you're out the door, looking amazing!

The Springtime Staple: Stripes

Spring/Summer= STRIPES

Spring is finally here! The weather has been getting a lil nicer out here in NY so it's time to switch my winter clothes for the spring/summer. (Insert my huge smile here) There's nothing I love more than getting dressed in the spring & summer because I can kiss the bulky coats goodbye. I don't put my outfits together for myself, I want everyone to see (except on the bummy days lol)

Here's a tip: If you're feeling a a little bold throw a striped cardigan over a floral dress- mixing patterns is big this season

LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's

One of my style idols is Lauren Conrad. I was obsessed with her on "The Hills" and super excited when she got her own clothing line but bummed when I found out it was WAY out of my price range ($150 and up for jersey knit, I think not). Her fan base is primarily teens to early/late 20s and I doubt they were buying anything. Hey, maybe they had the money to blow, I know I sure didn't. In April 2009, it was announced that she was working on a more affordable line with Kohl's. I'm not really a fan of Kohl's but my mom seems to love it. Initially I could only find her apparel online but the other day I paid Kohl's a visit. (I know, I said I don't like it but I found a pair of the oxfords I've been searching for there thanks to ShopStyle) There it was- a section devoted to LC Lauren Conrad. It's almost like I'm in her closet. It's California, it's happy, fun, basic but beautiful.

Especially this blue ruffled dress... I can't help but wonder where she got the inspiration for it??

This 3.1 Phillip Lim dress perhaps? Now I'm on shopping time-out but I really want this dress. Hopefully it'll still be in stock in May when I'm allowed to shop again.

All of these pieces are between $20and $60 so you can't really go wrong. Happy Shopping!

Spring 2010 Trend: Oxfords (Under $50)

Oxfords are big this season and I don't see it going past Fall 2010 so here are some options, all for $50 or less...I'm a sucker for fashion but shopping adds up and quick... that's why I like to consider myself a "recessionista" There is no reason why anyone can't follow the current style trends without breaking the bank. Especially since it can be hot one minute and not the next. There's no way I can shell out a lot of money, wear something for a month or two and not feel guilty about it. Now I'm not saying everything in your closet should be cheap. Splurge on timeless pieces, like a bag or mix and match the lower end with the higher end. I'm all for balance.
